Keep social media links in the footer.

It’s pretty common to find social media links displayed with pride in the header of many websites. But, stop and think about that. Do you want people to click your Facebook link and leave your website? No. No, you don’t.

Including social sharing buttons on the content you want people to share is great. But, don’t clutter your header with profile links. Keep them down in the footer, out of the way. People will see that you have a social media presence if they care, but the idea behind social marketing is to bring people to your website, not the other way around.
